One of the descendants of the famous IWC Ingenieur designed by Gérald Genta in 1976, the reference 3227 has a sporty steel case with the typical sleek dial and rectangular indexes seen in the earliest models from this collection. Originally introduced in the 1950s, the Ingenieur collection was meant to offer watches that were not just highly precise but also robust enough to withstand the effects magnetism, thanks to a soft-iron cage.
